Barking & Dagenham Citizens are a branch of Citizens UK, which is made up of hundreds of member organisations that are committed to taking action together for social justice and the common good. Citizens UK were invited into the borough by the then Bishop of Barking Peter Hill, to develop local campaigns including support for the living wage, youth safety and transport.  Thames Life has worked closely with BD Citizens to deliver weekly youth leadership training via the Young Citizens Action Group at Riverside School, winning campaigns to access the Barking Food Forest, recycling and litter facilities and increasing the local bus service.  Together, we organise to tackle injustice in our local communities.
